Hitha offers sun-kissed positivity on ‘Standing Up With Pride’

California-born Hitha reckons the demands of a teenage with her positive pop number. The singer-songwriter is of Indian descent and is a triple threat with singing, dancing and performing.

Hailing from California has it’s advantages. For 13-year-old Hitha, it means that sun-kissed positivity is inherent to her music.

Recent release ‘Standing Up With Pride‘ is case and point. Like many teenagers, Hitha has found the demands on her time overwhelming. From homework to peer pressure, sometimes it just seems like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel.

This is a single which addresses this and gives listeners of all ages a message of hope – that by focusing on what you want to achieve in life, you can use a positive mentality to overcome any hurdle. With a video which cleverly uses black and white imagery transforming into a world of colour when Hitha realises her potential.

Clocking in at just under four minutes, ‘Standing Up With Pride’ shows Hitha is already mastering the needs of the millennial listener. That’s all the time she needs to get etch her earworm hooks into the heads of her audience and leave the inspirational message resonating long after the music has stopped.

Watch a clip of the video below:

Born to Indian parents, 13 year-year-old Hitha is an all-round entertainer – dancer, writer, singer and musician, embracing both Western musical traditions as well as a passion for Bollywood dancing and traditional Indian singing. Initially making a name for herself through her renditions of cover versions on YouTube, Standing Up With Pride is a song which is particularly poignant for Hitha:

“It is my own story. I was getting stressed out with too many activities and external pressures. Due to my negative thinking, I could not focus on my passion for singing. One day, I decided to just let go of everything, just be positive and only pursue my passion – that decision changed my life. I believe this positivity is going to help many people”

“I hope that I become known as the positive little girl who loves to write and perform. When people hear my music, I want them to know that they can always count on themselves to figure out what their true passion is, and then put in the hard work and practice alongside their talent to get the achievement they’re looking for. There’s always a positive ending if you try hard and don’t give up.”
