Growing up, her father’s band, The Concordes, introduced her to the world of music and her parents’ love for 60s country music served as the soundtrack to her childhood. However, it was not until her father’s cancer diagnosis in 2013 that Burke realized she couldn’t let her own dreams slip away. She has since trained with renowned vocal coaches such as Mary Hammond, former Head of Musical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music, to refine her talent and hone her craft. It was during a conversation with Pulp’s Antony Genn that Burke was inspired to write “Artist’s Rut,” showcasing her ability to seamlessly blend personal experiences with powerful lyrics. And it was at a live performance with an audience full of music experts, including Amy Winehouse’s father, that Burke was praised for her singing abilities.
