At its heart, For the Love of Trees is an invitation. Clíodhna Ní Aodáin’s seven-track album asks listeners to slow down, spend time with trees and remember the peace that nature offers.

The recording began with a practice of presence. Ní Aodáin sat beneath individual trees with her cello, trusted the first musical impulse, sang and then found the melody on her instrument. Through that process, each piece became a response to a living presence.

The album opens with the focus track “Linden Tree” and continues through “Rowan Tree,” “Lament for the Trees,” “Fairie Tree,” “Forest Moon,” “Redwood” and “For the Love of Trees.” The music is concise, atmospheric and immersive, shaped by cello improvisation, voice, piano and subtle environmental textures.

Set for release on August 14, 2026 by Curve Blue, For the Love of Trees is both a recording and a gesture of reconnection. Ní Aodáin’s stated hope is that the music inspires people to listen more deeply and experience the connection that trees and the natural world offer freely.
