Introducing Amey St. Cyr
It’s slightly worrying when you realise that the 90s is now long enough ago that it falls under the banner of ‘retro’… but the upside is that we can now start to look back and re-appreciate the era at something of a distance…
But beyond the retro jeans and 90s playlists, we have recently discovered one artist whose work, due to unfortunate events in her life, never received the recognition it deserved… So we’d like to introduce you to Amey St. Cyr.

As a musician in the early 90s she worked with acts such as Thompson Twins’ in Babble; Baby Ford and Audio Deluxe both touring and in the studio, and her career was taking off in a big way when tragedy struck and post-natal depression left her unable to accept record company contracts – descending into a life fueled by drugs and alcohol.
Now clean for 12 years, she has since worked as an actor, most recently appearing in music videos for Krept and Konan, Big Narstie and Mackey Gee. But now she’s embarking on her first musical project since her comeback – Wild World. Drawing on a retro house sound, Wild World is a perfect reflection of Amey’s positive outlook on life and a welcome reminder of the club-life of the early 90’s.
“I describe Wild World as a comment on ‘social inequality’, mixed with positive beats and uplifting lyrics to help us all out of the doldrums in these challenging days of austerity”
