London based act Kid Cupid are bursting onto the electro-pop scene with their beautiful single, ‘Broken Down’.
With an atmospheric, electronic-indie sound, the band have been compared to the likes of London Grammar and Chvrches but despite this, they have developed an individuality driven by the vocal talents of singer, Laura Shaw.
The quartet aim to address societal attitudes in their music rather than focusing on the typical subjects of love and relationships. Consequently, Kid Cupid depict the wider picture where their songs act as thought-provoking social commentaries.
Their latest effort, ‘Broken Down’ is about someone fighting back and making a change for the better. From the songs hauntingly slow build to its defiant crescendo, listeners are taken on a sonic journey full of pounding percussion and echoed guitars.
