Hear Electric Sufi’s Intercultural Exploration of World Music On “Breathe In Love”
We’ve got an exciting new project to share with you! Electric Sufi is soon to release their debut album, “Breathe In Love”.
Fusing electronica with traditional Asian instruments, this album seeks to bridge the gap between cultures and tackle the issues of climate change. The project is led by three members with diverse cultural backgrounds. Vocalist, Sahrah Yaseen is a Kashmiri woman specialising in Sufi music. Multi-instrumentalist, Mina Salama is a Coptic Christian Egyptian and Rupert Till is a York-born producer specialising in synthesised music.
The lead single “O Ignis Spiritus” is a perfect example of the intercultural nature of the project. Originally a mediaeval Christian chant by St. Hildegarde from over 800 years ago, Sarah Yaseen has put her own spin on the track and it’s truly breathtaking. Other tracks such as “I Need Your Love” also have multi-cultural influences and are set to be just as inspiring.
“Breathe In Love” is expected to release early 2023 and is sure to be an album that touches hearts and minds. Get ready to be moved by the beautiful and powerful messages of this album.
