Prepare for The Guapos New Tour This Summer in Spain
Four of Mexico’s most renowned musicians – Adán Jodorowsky, El David Aguilar, Jay de La Cueva, and Leiva – no longer just share the stage, but have decided to join forces in a supergroup called The Guapos. And the fiery foursome have returned with their second single “Nunca Te Quise”, off their upcoming debut album.
The track, which was produced by Adan Jodorowsky and recorded at Reliable Recorders studios in Chicago, is a sarcastic twist on the typical love-gone-sour narrative. Lyrically centered on a lover unwilling to accept a breakup, the song’s cynical tones are countered by a surprisingly sweet melody.

The video brings a cleverly fitting conclusion to the story, with the characters meeting their inevitable fate in a surreal setting. Directed by Charlotte Kemp Muhl, and featuring Kenji Katori as Director of Photography, it was produced by La Catrina. June and July will see The Guapos embark on a brief tour in Spain, where they will perform at the country’s most popular summer festivals.
The group – whose philosophy is rooted in reviving the best of bygone eras with a contemporary twist – recorded all the songs for their album the old-school way: analog two-track, tape, and mono sound.
Although the days of live bands may be over, those of this supergroup are anything but – and here’s to hoping it doesn’t end with just one album.
