Unlikely collaboration between Wolfman + JSTEW turns lullaby into dancefloor filler

wooolfman

This is the story of an unlikely collaboration which came about by pure chance and led to one of the most exciting tracks that’s ever arrived here on our desks at PopPlaylister.

Woolfman – a 90s producer who you may well not have heard of – has seen a lot of music history in his career.  A founding member of Gang of Four, he was kicked out for “meditating in the soundcheck” (don’t worry – we’re not sure what it means either!?) Beyond this he also turned down an offer to join The Cure (!?!?!) when they were just starting out. Following this, he became an adviser to various bands, including Simply Red, as well as working on the film Breaking Glass. Very recently, however, Woolfman woke up one morning with a tune in his head, a lullaby as he describes, and set about writing it down…

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, an unknown soul singer and pastor, JSTEW, was setting out from San Francisco for his travels across Europe. One evening JTEW and Woolfman happened to meet somewhere in the south of Poland – a meeting which we’d sure like to find out more about, and a meeting which led to the creation of  this exciting new track.

So what happens when you put an ex-punkster and a gospel singer together….? Surprisingly, they took that lullaby that came to Woolfman in his dreams and turned it into an characterful and soulful dance-pop track (aka not what we would have expected), and here it is: Listen To The Beat:

The track has recently been picked up by David Guetta, making it into his DJ sets and Spotify playlist. It’s also led to at least two remixes one of which, by Mr E can be found on their YouTube channel:

With more singles expected for release soon – we’re excited to hear what they’re gonna be making next…
