Italian artist Aria – real name Mariano Schiavolini – has just released his latest single titled ‘Smile’. Released on August 14th of this year, it is a testament to Aria’s decades of experience and craftsmanship in the music industry.

The infectious track is incredibly complex, featuring as many as 120 tracks thanks to the use of older, superior analogue set-ups to accurately capture and layer individual instrument parts. Strong rhythms and global influences make the song infectious. With rhythms inspired by South and Central American musical styles, such as rumba and cha cha, as well as jazz and RnB influences adding vibrancy to the song, it’s clear that Aria has outdone himself. Equally as impressive is the tour de force of global talent Aria has brought together for the song; featuring the likes of Joseph Patrick Moore on bass, Grammy-winning producer Phil Madeira on Hammond organ and Carlos Sosa Horns on brass, while English author Nicolette Turner penned the lyrics which were performed by Ariel Jones in both English and Portuguese.

The accompanying music video paints a message of universal brotherhood and features people from different backgrounds coming together through dance. It is clear that Smile is a song that Aria holds close to his heart, with the single being reflective of Aria’s career-long dedication to causes such as defending human rights and fighting apartheid. The single ‘Smile’ is out now on all streaming platforms and is a must-listen for those seeking something a bit different and unique. With a wide range of influences, it truly is a global team effort that should not be overlooked.
