Uriel Pascucci Releases New Interpretation of Ravel’s “Pavane for a Dead Princess” for Composer’s 150th Anniversary

Pianist, composer, and producer Uriel Pascucci has released a new rendition of Maurice Ravel’s renowned “Pavane for a Dead Princess” to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth. The single is available for streaming and download, accompanied by a professionally produced video filmed by Tom Maeder.

Ravel composed the original Pavane in 1899, inspired by the elegant dances of the Spanish Renaissance court. Pascucci’s version, recorded at Musikinsel Rheinau in Switzerland, offers a modern perspective while maintaining the piece’s delicate and emotive character. His performance features careful attention to phrasing and dynamic nuance, blending classical tradition with elements of his Argentinian heritage and subtle improvisational touches.

Uriel Pascucci was born in Mendoza, Argentina and is now based in Switzerland. He has received multiple international accolades, including two Silver Medals at the 2024 Global Music Awards for his album “Solo Piano” in the Classical and Instrumentalist categories. Pascucci is also the winner of the London Grand Prize Virtuoso International Competition and has garnered media praise in Europe, North America, and Latin America.

In addition to his performance career, Pascucci is an active composer, producer, and author of the piano technique manual “Unlocking The Virtuoso Piano Technique.” His work often bridges genres, drawing on classical, jazz, tango, and contemporary styles.
