Rodeo Terrorists Mix Banter, Pride And Charity On “Saltire (Tartan Army)”
“Saltire (Tartan Army)” by Rodeo Terrorists is a football anthem with more than one purpose. Released on 27th March 2026, the single celebrates Scotland’s Tartan Army with a blend of national pride, humour and infectious musical energy.
The song was written quickly, in just 30 minutes during a break at work, by Richard, a 55-year-old English IT manager and DIY music creator. His career has also included work behind the scenes in pop music, building websites for major acts including Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and Steps.
Rather than trying to be overly serious, “Saltire (Tartan Army)” embraces the fun side of football culture. Its Celtic-inspired melodies and electronic pop-rock drive have been likened to a meeting point between The Waterboys and New Order’s “World In Motion.”
The release is also connected to a meaningful cause. Richard hopes the single can help raise funds for MND Scotland in memory of a close friend who died from Motor Neurone Disease, giving the anthem a compassionate purpose beyond the match-day atmosphere.
